Hotel Grinnell Crash Course (FAQ)
We’ve gathered some frequently asked questions here to give you a crash course on Hotel Grinnell before your visit. If you’re wondering about something that isn’t addressed here, contact us so we can give you the info you need.
When is check-in/check-out time?
Check-in time is 3 pm local hotel time. Check-out time is 12 pm (noon) local hotel time.
Do you allow smoking on property? In the rooms?
Smoking is not allowed inside the hotel, on the hotel property, or in the event center.
How much do you charge for high-speed/WiFi Internet access?
Internet access is complimentary.
Do you have high-speed wired and/or wireless Internet access available?
Both wired and wireless Internet access are available in the guest rooms. Wireless Internet access is available throughout the hotel.
Do you have a fitness center? What kind of equipment does it have?
The 24/7 rec room has two treadmills, yoga ball and assorted free weights.
Do you offer bikes for use during my stay?
Yes, we do. Get out and explore Grinnell on one of our complimentary bicycles, available for checkout through our front desk or guest services staff. We can also recommend popular bicycle routes.
Do you have an in-room yoga program?
Yes, simply ask our front desk or guest services staff for a yoga mat and they will be sure to have one placed in your room. There is also a yoga studio within walking distance that we will be happy to direct you to.
What are the fitness center hours?
The rec room, located on the second floor is where you will find the fitness equipment and is open 24 hours.
Do you offer room service? What are the hours?
Yes. Room service is available 24/7, with a limited menu after midnight.
Do you have a business center?
Yes. The business center is available 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. The business center is located in the rec room on the second floor. Printing, copy and document services are available at Total Choice Shipping and Printing located one block from the hotel.
How do I get to the hotel?
From Interstate 80, take Exit 182 at Grinnell, turn north on to Highway 146. Take a right turn at 5th Avenue and right again on Park Street. The hotel is located at 925 Park Street.
Do you have on-site parking? How much is parking? Is it included in my room rate?
Parking is on-site and complimentary.
Will your rooms allow roll-aways/cribs/play yards? Is there a charge?
Many rooms will have a twin or queen sleeper, and we can accommodate play yards. All are complimentary.
I booked on a website other than the hotel website and I need to make a change to my reservation.
Please contact the website that booked your reservation. Changes will be reflected in our system.
What is your cancellation policy?
The hotel’s standard cancellation policy is seven days prior to check-in. Reservations must be canceled by 3 pm local hotel time, seven days prior to check-in or one night’s room and tax will be charged.
What is the minimum age requirement to check in to the room?
Check in requires at least one adult 18 years of age or older.
Is my ID/passport required at check-in?
We do require a photo ID at time of check-in for all reservations.
Do you have connecting rooms?
No, the hotel does not offer connecting rooms. Please email us at email@example.com if you’d like to be placed in adjacent guest rooms and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Do you have accessible rooms?
Yes, we have 3 ADA accessible rooms.
Food & Beverage Service
What are the hours of the restaurant/bar/lounge?
Breakfast is available from 6 am to 11 am, lunch and dinner from 11 am to 10 pm seven days per week. Alcohol service in the bar is available until 10 pm Sunday through Thursday and until midnight Friday and Saturday. Coffee/tea/soft drink service and light snacks are available at the bar 24 hours.

What forms of payment are accepted to pay for my room?
At check-in, we require authorization on a credit or debit card for each night’s room and tax plus $75 for incidentals per night. Once the credit or debit card is authorized at check-out, the hotel releases any remaining authorization; however, if you are using a debit card, some banks will hold the authorization for up to seven business days. We will accept cash for payment at check-out, but we do not accept cash deposits.
Are pets allowed? Are there restrictions for weight, height or types?
Yes, dogs are accepted. A one-time $75 non-refundable pet fee will be added to your bill. There are no weight, height, or type restrictions. Upon arrival, you will be asked to sign a release form. Pets are not allowed to be unsupervised in guest rooms.
Do you have pet-free rooms for those with allergies?
The hotel does have allergen-free rooms; please note this request during the reservation process.
Do you have pet sitting or dog walking services?

Meetings & Events
What is the charge for reception/meeting space?
The rental fees for our event spaces are dependent on the length of your event and your space requirements. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to inquire about hosting your event at Hotel Grinnell.
What is the capacity of the event venues?
We can accommodate events of up to 350 guests on the patio and 450 in the auditorium. The ballroom can accommodate up to 350 people for a sit-down dinner, and 450 for standing cocktail receptions.
What is your deposit requirement?
Event center bookings require 100% of the total rental fee.
Can I bring in my own food or alcohol?
No, all beverages must be provided by Hotel Grinnell. Food (as well as cake) must be supplied by an approved caterer. Events must pay the hotel for all taxable items delivered to the hotel, and then the hotel will pay the vendor upon delivery.
How large is the dance floor?
The entire ballroom floor is wood so the dance floor can be configured to any size. Our event coordinator will work with you to design a layout for your event.
Do you provide table linens, china, silver, and glassware?
Yes, we provide china, silver, and glassware at no additional charge. Chairs are also provided. Tables and table linens (since each event has different needs) will be provided by an outside rental vendor and charged accordingly.
Who will oversee my event?
Our event coordinator will be on-site during your event and will work closely with you and your vendors.
When can we set up?
At a minimum, deliveries should be made at least two hours prior to start time. The event space will be available to you from 8 am prior to your event until 8 am the morning after your event.
